About Joy
Joy Gassama is a product manager, UX researcher, burgeoning writer, and Sagittarius stellium (if you know, you know) based out of Seattle, Washington. She uses deep research, data analysis, design thinking, and her collaborative spirit to transmute complex problems into meaningful, everyday solutions. Joy’s venturesome nature is evident in a career spanning AI/ML, healthcare, privacy and compliance, legal services, and the non-profit sector. She is driven by curiosity, guided by ethics, and energized by the challenge of building products that matter.
Joy holds an MS in Information Management from the University of Washington Information School, where the Dean’s Fellowship (yes, a full ride!) allowed her to delve into UX, information architecture, and product management. She also obtained a BA in Government and Middle Eastern Studies with a minor in Arabic from The University of Texas at Austin.
When she isn’t refining her product sense, you can find Joy curled up with a good book, curating playlists for loved-ones, brushing up on Arabic, or cuddling with her cats, Mowgli and Baloo (the bare necessities).
